The Team:

Working within the COO department which is made up of marketing, data, insights, and business transformation/new business development teams. The customer is at the heart of everything we do and we are committed to creating and personalising products to meet their needs and desires, using data and insight to drive these.

Our focus is to engage, inform, inspire and entertain customers with our content, delivering it to them on multiple platforms, whilst maximising customer revenue generation from partnerships, products and business extensions that they trust and value. Advertising revenue plays a key part in the News UK strategy and supporting corporate customers to maximise return on their investment is essential. Growing our digital future is key while maximising our significant print audience.

Your Role:

Develop and execute long term, sustainable business plans for TNL branded businesses and products, whilst developing and implementing successful partnerships with external organisations that help drive profit growth for all TNL revenue streams. Manage the P&Ls to deliver targets for all TNL branded businesses, including (but not exclusively) TLS, Times Expert Traveller, Money Mentor, Sunday Times Wine Club and Times Ticketing, building and optimising growth strategies for each and ensuring internal and external resources are deployed to maximise profits for each business.

Day to day:

  • Manage existing and new partnerships that support growth across all products.

  • Develop strategy and budgets for all branded businesses, demonstrating sustainable profitability across multiple years

  • Develop initiatives for branded businesses that mitigate risks and develop new solutions that capitalise on opportunities

  • Develop strong relationships with existing and new brand partners across multiple sectors from idea, sourcing and partner reach out, to negotiations, contracts and ongoing relationship management

  • Play a pivotal role within the title team, making a meaningful and informed contribution to strategy and to day-to-day business planning

  • Seek out new categories and emerging brands to engage; innovating new means of profiling, pitching, and negotiating targeted partners

  • Plan, pitch and handle complex negotiations involving deal structure, margin and other critical contract terms

  • Collaborate and work closely with the leadership team, proactively proposing areas that can add value to the business while always ensuring the best possible customer service

  • Work closely with colleagues in the customer hub to ensure TNL businesses and partnerships are supported cost-efficiently and effectively

  • Ensure meticulous and actionable evaluation reports are carried out on all campaigns and partnerships: Own reporting on branded business and partnerships for the GM

  • Build strong relationship with New Business Ventures (NBV) team and work with them to develop new business opportunities for The Times business.
